New Aerial Views Project COAL MINE EAST 2020

Publication in mare magazine
In cooperation with the renowned german magazin mare "the magazine of the seas", I was in Norway to photograph fish farms from the air for the current August issue No. 141.
The article shows on 5 double pages also images of other fish farms I had captured before in the Philippines and Greece.
The short story next to it is a literary indictment by Irish writer Cormac James.

Systematischer Ideen Diebstahl in der Aerial Photographie

Es ist denke ich völlig okay sich von anderen Kollegen inspirieren zu lassen. Es kommt natürlich auch hin und wieder vor, dass die gleichen Themen behandelt werden - was aber ein bestimmter "Fotograf" seit geraumer Zeit betreibt ist offensichtlich und im Folgenden bildlich belegt, systematisches im gleichen Stil Nachfotografieren bereits existierender Serien und Locations anderer Aerial Fotografen. Insbesondere von von mir Bernhard Lang, und mehreren anderen wie zum Beispiel Tommy Clarke und Simon Butterworth.
Der unter Lutfbild-Fotografen bereits als Copyist bekannte T.H. hat sich sein Portfolio sukzessive durch dieses gezielte Kopieren der Serien anderer Aerial Fotografen aufgebaut. Dies lässt sich stichfest Nachprüfen, wenn man sich die Chronologie der Veröffentlichungen der jeweiligen Serien im Netz, auf Social Media oder in Printformaten ansieht.
Bezeichnenderweise verzichtet der Copyist auf seiner Webseite darauf das Jahr der Entstehung seiner Kopien zu nennen.
Hinzukommt, dass er auch inhaltlich den gleichen Grundgedanken meiner Arbeit „den Eingriff des Menschen auf die Erde darzustellen“ ebenfalls übernommen hat und äußert. Bereits in den Jahren 2013/2014 hatte ich diesen Leitgedanken ausgesprochen wie zum Beispiel in einer Veröffentlichung in der Huffington Post 2014:
Unschönerweise ist der Copyist auch noch in der gleichen Stadt wie ich ansässig, und folgte meiner Arbeit auf den sozialen Medien wie Behance und Instagram (bis ich ihn geblockt hatte). Daher waren ihm meine Serien und inhaltlichen Aussagen sehr wohl bekannt, die er dann später Im Bewusstsein, daß dies bereits existiert kopiert hat.
In der aktuelle Ausgabe des Magazins „Novum“ 06.20 ist im Innenteil ein vierseitiger Artikel über mein mittlerweile 10 Jahre andauerndes Aerial Views Projekt zu sehen. Das Titelfoto des Magazins zeigt eine Kopie des genannten Copyisten T.H. welches er besonders dreist und offensichtlich eins zu eins vom Original des Fotografen Simon Butterworth übernommen hat:

Neben diesen hier namentlich und bildlich aufgeführten Serien hat der Copyist viele weitere Serien kopiert, zu der sich jeweils ein Original des ursprünglichen Machers finden lässt.

Systematic Ideas Theft in Aerial Photography
As I think it's absolutely okay to be inspired by other colleagues - Of course it also happens, that sometimes the same subjects are dealt with - no problem - but what a certain „photographer" has been doing for quite some time now is obvious, and illustrated in this article, systematic in the same style re-photographing of already existing series and locations of other aerial photographers. Especially series from myself Bernhard Lang and several others like Tommy Clarke and Simon Butterworth.
This guy T. H. who is already known for a while as a copyist among aerial photographers, has built up his portfolio step by step through this targeted copying of the series of other aerial photographers. This can easily be verified by looking at the chronology of the publications of the respective series online, on social media or in print publications. Significantly, the copyist refrains from mentioning the year in which his copies were made on his website.
In addition, he boldly adopted and expressed the same basic idea of my work: „To displaying man's intervention on earth“, which I had already expressed for example in a publication in the Huffington Post in 2014:
Additionally the copyist is also based in the same city as me and he has followed my work on social media such as behance and Instagram (until I blocked him). Therefore, he was quite familiar with my series and content statements, which he later copied.
In the current issue of the magazine „Novum" 06. 20 a four-page article about my now 10 years lasting Aerial Views project can be seen in the inner part. The title photo of the magazine shows a copy of the this guy, which he had copied particularly boldly and obviously one to one from the original of the photographer S. Butterworth.
The entire series has been copied by copyist T. H. from the already existing series of photographers S. Butterworth and T. Clarke about the same salt mine location.
It was important for me (and I should have published this earlier), at least with this article, to draw attention to the methodical assumption of intellectual achievements from others by this certain copyist, to distance myself from these machinations, and to hand out advice to younger photographers to find your own way and new themes, rather than to build your portfolio with the acquisition of existing series.

The heart of steel production still beats in Germany, where millions of tons of steel are produced annually.
The steel industry in Europe is an important employer but is under great international pressure. Germany is the largest steel producer in the EU with a market share of 25 percent. The industry is under pressure because cheap steel from the Far East is flooding the world market.
